Audrey flashed her first authentic smile yesterday. I thought I saw some coming and it was evident yesterday morning that this was a REAL smile. She's even prettier when she smiles.

Gary and I realized she has a little birthmark on her neck. It's called a "Stork's Bite" and they're often found on the nape of the neck.

I'm forgetting what day it is. The past few days all look the same - nursing, sitting, putzing around the house, changing diapers. I couldn't be happier.

January 2, 2009

Audrey's baby cold is subsiding. In the meantime, she's nursing about every hour. Literally. We're just sitting and nursing. Sitting and nursing. My shoulders started to really ache today from all the sitting and nursing. I had to do some stretches. I'll have to use that massage gift certificate Uncle Eric gave me sooner than later!

Gramma Joan came over today and stayed with Audrey while I went to the grocery store. I had just enough time to grab a Starbucks (tall soy chai latte) and hit the grocery store before it was time to come back and...guess what?...nurse the baby! :) Gramma commented on how Audrey enjoyed kicking her legs as she had her diaper changed. And,she loved Gramma's singing!

She's just starting to smile at me. It is so precious. I'll snap a photo as soon as I'm able. In the meantime, this pic is pretty darn cute.

January 1, 2010

Happy four week birthday, baby girl! Audrey was four weeks old yesterday. She's changed so much in four short weeks. My friend, Tracey, said she looks like a "regular old baby" now and not a newborn. Babies can see about 12 inches away from their face at this age. Her favorite image is, of course, her lovely mother. :) She moves her head to track me as I move around the room. She holds her gaze longer now as I look her. She's becoming more animated with her facial expressions, too. She's so adorable!

Santa gave her this outfit in her stocking at her Daddy's house. Audrey's now enjoying laying on her back, waving her arms and kicking her feet.

She's got a little cold but she's on the mend. We've been a little out of sorts from traveling over the holiday but we're settling back into our groove here at our house. More sitting for me!

Audrey's pic of the day. Baby cold and all.

Congratulations, Mom & Dad, on the sale of your insurance business yesterday!!!
